We have received emails ourselves, and we have had similar reports from clients, from people pretending to be from ASIC.
The scam involves them advising that a particular registration (like a business name) is due for renewal at an upcoming date and that you must renew if you wish to continue using it. They then ask you to go to the link to pay for the renewal now. The emails look very authentic so you could be easily deceived.
The link can then take you to a site where they ask for bank or credit card details, or worse still your computer is infected with some type of virus.
Be very careful if you receive anything that looks odd and always check with us if you have any doubts about the authenticity of the email.
